Pet odor removal service in Olympia, treated at the source
Pet urine smell lingers because the urine is still in the carpet, often down in the backing. Our pet odor removal service finds how far it has spread, treats it with enzymes where it soaked in and extracts it, in Olympia and across Thurston County and the South Sound. You'll hear before we start whether your carpet is likely to clear. Our pet urine removal treatment finds the pet accidents you cannot see and removes odors at the source.
Why sprays wear off
Odor comes from something still physically there. A deodorising spray covers it for a few days, then it comes back once the air turns humid.
It spreads wider than it looks
Urine spreads far wider under the carpet than it shows on top. We find the whole affected area before treating, so the edges get treated along with the middle.
Pets return to what they can smell
While a dog or cat can still pick up its own scent in a spot, it may keep going back there, which is one more reason to remove the residue rather than cover it.
How pet odor removal works
Pet urine carpet cleaning starts with a walk through the rooms with you, so we agree what's realistic. You get a price, written or texted, before anything gets wet.
- Locate every affected area, including spread you can't see from above
- Enzyme treatment that breaks down the urine residue
- Sub-surface application where it has soaked into the backing
- Extraction and neutralising to take the residue and solution back out
Severity decides the outcome
We'll tell you which one you have at the pre-inspection, before any work starts.
A recent accident
A puppy's mistake last week or a one-off from a stressed cat usually clears completely.
Years of repeat marking
When the same spot has been used for years, urine often reaches the pad and subfloor. That usually needs the pad replaced and the subfloor sealed, and no topical treatment fixes it.
- We don't replace carpet pad or seal subfloors
- We can't promise long-set pet damage will come out
- Pet stains that reached the wood of a hardwood floor won't lift with our hardwood deep clean
Why we say it before quoting
If the pad is the problem, treating the carpet above it won't hold for long. We'd rather say so at the inspection than have you pay us and then pay a flooring contractor as well.
What to do with a fresh accident
The right first aid helps, and the wrong product can make things worse.
- Blot with a thick layer of paper towels, pressing down and repeating until the spot is barely damp
- Skip ammonia-based cleaners. Ammonia smells like urine to a pet and can encourage it to mark the same spot again
- Leave scented sprays alone. They cover the smell for a few days and leave the source where it is
- Note every spot that's been used, dried ones included, so we can check each one
Spills that didn't come from a pet are a different job: see carpet stain removal.
Sanitising and deodorising
An optional treatment for homes with pets. It goes on after the cleaning and is no substitute for it.
How it's applied
EPA-registered products at the rate and dwell time on the label, on carpet or upholstery. Ask about it when you book.
What we won't claim
We don't make health claims about it. If you have a specific worry, tell us what it is and we'll say plainly whether this is the right treatment or you need someone else.
Two jobs that often come with it
Moving out of a rental with a pet
Our move-out carpet cleaning treats pet areas along with traffic lanes and spots once the unit is empty, and comes with a dated, itemised receipt on our letterhead.
The sofa the dog sleeps on
Upholstery takes a different tool and a gentler approach than carpet. Our upholstery cleaning checks the manufacturer's cleaning code and tests a hidden spot first, and we'll decline a fabric we don't think will survive.
Pet odor removal, straight answers
Does pet odor removal get urine smell out of carpet for good?
It depends on how far it has gone. A recent accident usually clears completely. Years of repeat marking that reached the pad and subfloor often needs the pad replaced and the subfloor sealed, which we don't do, and we'll tell you that before we quote.
Do you do carpet odor removal for smells that aren't from pets?
Yes. Smoke and mustiness get the same approach: find the source and treat it there. Tell us what the smell is and where, and we'll say whether cleaning is likely to help.
Is the sanitising treatment the same as odor removal?
No. Odor removal treats the source with enzymes and extraction. Sanitising is an optional EPA-registered product applied afterwards at its label directions, and we don't make health claims about it.
